I didn't realize it has been that long since I have written!  I have been pretty busy so far this year.  I am collaborating with the legendary Rock and Funk band Mother's Finest on some material for Joyce Kennedy.  So far the sessions have been great and very productive.  Hopefully they will stuff me in a suitcase and take me with them for their upcoming European tour in April.  Hint hint.

I have also been working with singer Katrinia Mia on some acoustic material.  She has a strong Latin influence that I have been trying to incorporate more into my sound.

Additionally, I am sitting in with the Punk/Metal band The BlackHeadz.  Fun stuff all around and definitely enough to keep me busy until I get the studio back up and running.

I'm writing songs for a new album.  I think I took the one man band concept to the limit so I have been getting back to my roots so to speak.  By this I mean I am concentrating on the song, the vocals and the guitar.  On my solo  recordings,  I played most if not all the bass, drums, keyboards, etc as well.  At this point I have really just enjoyed playing acoustic guitar and embellishing that with my Roland Loop Station.  The result is a lot more of a rootsy sound which is virtually unfiltered through the modern technology that I am such a fan of.  Though the technology has allowed me to really get my ideas out creatively, it is really import for me to be able to make music when the electricity goes out!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

I have been woodshedding on a lot of blues lately, writing and even playing some slide guitar.

We are trying to find a new home for the studio in Atlanta so please contact us if you know of any good commercial real-estate deals.

I am also discussing the possibility of putting on a regular weekly or bi-weekly show at a club in midtown to showcase some of the best up and coming bands and artists.  If you are interested in participating, please contact us.

Thanks for visiting my little corner of the world wide web. It has been a while since the site was updated! If you're here it probably means you are curious or dug what you already heard.

I am putting the finishing touches on my next solo album called "Disconnected" which is my first acoustic record. No set release date but as of now, we're looking at the end of August.

Though I don't really get into "labels", we are going to embrace the "Heavy Soul" tag and give you what you came for....Rock that Rolls. As of now the new band album will be called "The Revolution of REAL". It will be out this summer rain or shine for all the lovers of music that you can feel!

The album features some of my favorite musicians out of LA and Atlanta and includes world renown drummer Forrest Robinson, Jiva lead vocalist Kimyada Rivers and bassist Sean McMorris.

Outside of that, I have been collaborating with several like minded souls on other projects to realize their voices in this world. More to come soon. In the meantime swing by myspace and drop some love.

Always,
JR
